An abandoned palace in Volantis was currently used to keep the dragons from eating everyone. The courtyard was huge and no doubt spectacular but now all the vegetation was burnt down and the white walls were scorched.

Bruyan, weaing the uniform Lorry had given him, walked closer to the gates with something akin to fear on his face. He and Lorry had the task of pushing the cart of food into the courtyard.

The Courtyard appeared empty when the two finally entered. Large bones were strewn about the barren land. The place was eerily silent. "Well," Lorry said. "Dragons don't seem too scary to me."

Bruyan glanced at Lorry, "Doubt you'd say that when they descend upon you with fire out of their mouths, we wouldn't be able to say much at all.". Bruyan gave the cart a last push. "We should probably move back a bit before they smell the food".

"Alright," Lorry said, relieved that his friend had suggested it, not wanting to appear a coward.

They moved to the other side of the gate to watch the dragons through a small opening as they feasted on their meal.

The two men peered with open mouths as the giant beasts appeared quickly. They were huge, but seemed to come out of nowhere. Heat seemed to radiate from their scales and breath, and the food seemed to vanish rather than be eaten.

"I think we'll need more food the next time, Lorry" Bruyan said.

"Shhh," Lorry said, angrily. "Dragon's can hear good, everyone know that. And they'd rather eat us than listen to us."

Bruyan nodded and stayed silent.

As they walked out of the palace, Bruyan asked Lorry, "Where's the guarding duty next?"

"The palace," he replied with a grin. "If you draw the Silver Soldier or the Prince's quarters, you can hear some intriguing stuff."

"Well what are we waiting for then," Bruyan smiled.

Lorry smiled and led the way. After a brief check-in with the Tyroshi captain of the guard, Lorry and Bruyan took their places outside the Silver Soldier's chambers. Everything seemed quiet.

Bruyan stood entirely still as befitted a guard, waiting intently for something to happen.
