The Red Tide slipped into the port at Astapor, and three men stepped off the ship while the others stayed on board. The three men approached the palace of Astapor, and boldly seek an audience with the Good Masters.

A brief servant receives him and in perfect Westerosi, inquires into the man's name and business.

Lord Balon Hacke stood up with great presence and presented himself. "I am Lord Balon Hacke, Lord Paramount of the Stepstones of Westeros. I am here to inquire with the Good Masters on the state of the Free Cities, and their willingness to stand up and battle the Targaryens." He stated coldly.

"The Free Cities are not our concern, nor are they are allies or enemies," the servant replied. "As long as they buy and trade with us, the Targaryens are no different than the usual owners of those barbaric lands."

Lord Hacke cleared his throat, some would describe it as violently. "I wonder if the Good Masters recall so long ago, when the Targaryens burned and razed their city, along with the rest of the Ghiscari empire? The Targaryens are not going to stop at the Free Cities, I can guarantee you that. They will come for Astapor in due time. And with dragons." Balon finished sternly.

"Dragons are no match for Unsullied," the servant replied, but did not seem too confident in the statement. "Nevertheless, you may visit with Good Master Dorriz Rurik." He turned on his heel and motioned for Balon to follow him.
He was ushered into a lavish room, before being bombarded with fine wine and delicacies, before the Good Master entered, wearing extravagant clothing.
The translator spoke for him, after he had finished. "The Good Master greets you warmly and wishes to inquire on how travels are going."

Lord Balon nodded his head. "My travels have been good, thank you. Astapor is a great and fine city, I can tell you that much. We don't have the likes of it on the Stepstones, where I rule."

The Good Master smiled and laughed, then said something.
"The Good Master wishes to inquire as to why he has such the honor and pleasure of your presence in the city, milord," the translator said.

Lord Balon nodded, "I wish to speak of the Targaryens, and their recent conquests of the Free Cities. I believe the Targaryens will soon be a danger to your Good Master, and the other cities of the Summer Sea."

"The Targaryens will not be satisfied with only the Free Cities. They have conquered too much too quickly to be satisfied, I can assure you their lusts will not be sated until they have stretched themselves as far as they possibly can." Balon said disgusted.

"The Good Master wishes to know why you speak so if the Sunset Kingdom is currently aiding the Targaryens in all of their conquests," the translator said, perhaps more amiably that the Good Master had actually said.

Lord Balon smiled at the Good Master, for the first time in their meeting, perhaps the only time he would ever witness Balon smile. "I may be part of the Sunset Kingdom, but I hate the Targaryens." Balon said, very hatefully. "I do not trust the Targaryens, they are lying scum. They say they do not care about their claim to Westeros, yet they marry themselves into the royal family. And the new King of Westeros, well, he is a pawn of the Targaryens, mark my words."

The translator lifted his eyes in some surprise, then dutifully translated. The Good Master smirked again, before regarding Lord Hacke again and then rattling off a few sentences.
"The Good Master wishes to know why you have come to him about the problem, and if you propose anything."

Lord Balon nodded and laughed slightly. "I come to you, Good Master, because I know that the Targaryens will be taking their armies here in a matter of time. I propose we strike them while they are still conquering the Free Cities, making sure they can never conquer Astapor or the other cities of the Summer Sea."
