These knights may or may not be the best in all of Westeros. Surely they are the most famous though:
1) Ser Janos "the Ruby" Rosby:
A knight of a cadet branch of House Rosby, he has fought his way to prominence, and gained the love of the Crownlands and King's Landing as their favorite knight.
2) Ser Nathan Wylde, the Maelstrom:
A terribly fury on the battlefield, but a gentle man at heart, Ser Nathan is a Stormlander through and through. His elder brother is Castellan of Storm's End, and Ser Nathan once served as Edric's Captain of Guard.
3) Ser Vanidan Pryor:
The Vale's most skilled swordsman, he is first rose to prominence fighting clansmen, as many Valesmen do. Vandian, as many recall, was one of the heroes of the River War. He is also loved and hated for turning down a spot on the Kingsguard.
4) Ser Jerold Frey:
The heir to the Crossing, and one of the late Lord Frey's best swordsmen during the River War. Responsible for killing dozens of Valesmen, and several nobles among them. He is hated throughout the Vale, but respected elsewhere nonetheless.
5) Ser Anton Norridge:
Little and less is known of Ser Anton Norridge, besides his skill with the blade.
6) Ser Andre Ferren:
Little more is known of Ser Andre Ferren, who lives as modest a life as Ser Anton Norridge.
7) Ser Eldridge Hawthorne, the Knight of Thorns and Flowers:
Once one of the most famous knights in the realm, Ser Eldridge Hawthorne, he was found in bed with a married highborn lady, and sent by her husband to the Wall. Eldridge deserted after a year and stole passage to Tyrosh where he has served in the company of House Targaryen.
8) Ser Zavior Caron: The heir to Nightsong, Ser Zavior gained prominence during the Dornish Rebellion of 1499. He is of average appearance, except for his dark black eyes that are somewhat disturbing or attractive, depending on the viewer. He wields the famous sword of valyrian steel, Dark Sister.
Dead Famed Knights:
Ser Brennan Blackwood, the Knight of the Murder:
The third son of Lord Blackwood and a knight of exceptional skill and beloved by the realm over. Whether or not he is the best knight Westeros has to offer has yet to be decided, but he is surely its most famous.
Slain by Leo Martell in King's Landing during the trial of Lord Waine Qorgyle in 1499.
